Re: Find your path.....(for absolute beginners)

Hello again MiddleC! Thank you for the kind feedback! If I understood you correctly, you started at the Intermediate bootcamp? Did you complete the Rookie bootcamp beforehand? I think that maybe you didnt considering you said at the bottom of your post, "I think I am not authorized for scales". Mea...

Re: Find your path.....(for absolute beginners)

Hello Mark! I would reccommend lowering the learning curve for yourself and use the numbered or note indicators as provided. Rookie bootcamp is meant to lay down a solid foundation so then you can evolve to the level you're trying to acheive ahead of time. As you advance within the intermediate (ha...

Re: Rookie question on memory of notes on staff

I wrote a few tips on how to practice effectively. If you look under "practice tips" where you found this thread, it's titled something l...

Re: greetings from behind the Redwood Curtain

Welcome to the PGS Neighborhood Monte!

I think I can relate, jumping from bass and drums to piano was a whole different kind of world. I wish you all the best on your journey!

Re: Suggestions on Rookie level to start songs

Hi griced! With PGS, everyone has the ability to plan out and execute their overall goal(s) to how they see fit. If you want to play rookie-inter to rookie-hard songs while going thru the rookie bootcamp, then go for it. I would suggest that you complete the entire rookie bootcamp (along with the r...

Re: scoring questions

Hi dancindoll511! The dotted red sharp symbol means you played a sharp when it should have been something else (and that your timing of playing that sharp was a half note too early or too late depending where the red sharp is marked relative to the correct note that should have been played). Where t...

Re: Where should I be looking?

Hi mrclauds! Its been a while since your posting and I haven't seen anyone respond, so I shall be the first - I guess. If you are still having trouble on where to look to be "technically sound", then my answer would be get used to looking at the sheet music 90% of the time. Its ok to look down as yo...

Re: plateauing

Hi jwonch! If you mean "plateauing" by you're not learning anything new that you dont know already, then I can answer both of your questions by reccommending you start or join a band. If you have a diverse repetoire that you can bring to a band, I'm sure you'll learn to play without sheet music and ...
