Re: Rookie Vs. Intermediate

I have a few songs I've bought all three levels. I can't tell you from experience yet if learning the lower version hinders your learning the more advanced. I haven't gotten that far. But I do not think it will hurt. When you are ready to learn intermediate, it will be as hard or as easy as any othe...

Re: Fingering in Human Nature

It would actually be great to be able to modify the fingering in the way we like. If there's something I feel more comfortable with, I'd love to be able to change the fingering in the program and then print the sheet with my updates :D In case the original issue is a mistake and it gets updated, ho...

Re: Not working with Skype

While waiting for an authoritative answer you could check if skype allows you to share the audio devices. I haven't used skype in years so am not very familiar with its current abilities and settings.

Re: Show BPM in the lesson's "View Segment Progress" graph

I like this idea. It also would help if the step didn't show completed before reaching full tempo. Playing 100% correctly at 1/4 tempo probably should not count as a successful completion for the step.

Re: Fingering in Human Nature

It's always possible it is a mistake. Remember, though. that the finger numbers are a suggestion and if you feel like using different fingers are more effective or comfortable, do it. The program won't mark you down for using the wrong fingers. If Andrew can have a look at that one, he can probably ...

Re: Beginner to formal piano

I think we may have suggested a sort of recognition practice before; where the notation appears on screen, either fades in or marches in from the right and you identify the note by playing the right one. Over time the exercise would evolve as you get better by introducing sequences of notes and simu...

Re: Accompaniment icon not refreshing

I'm going to chime in that I think the Accompaniment issue needs resolving. The check marks are more of the maybe since they do update properly as soon as you click a different lesson.

Re: the biggest challenge for me is nerves

I have the same problem. I make it worse when I make videos for Facebook. The "cure" is a gargantuan amount of practice at slower speeds, advancing the tempo only a little at a time and only after I've played that speed to 100% a large number of times. Then as I get to the faster tempo, I'm fairly c...

Re: Hello from Kentucky!

Welcome "Steinway23M"! First - learning to read music is a "You-Get-Out-What-You-Put-In" kind of thing. Playground Sessions is all about playing from sheet music. But you will have to do some homework on your own, too. Watch the videos where David covers Notation a few times each - until you are com...

Re: Performance full song = 0 points second time around?

The practice points are award when you play it better than your previous attempts. I don't know how much you have to improve to get more points. When you get 100% you'll get points again. At least until you play it several times to 100% and since you have no room to improve, you will not get practic...
