Re: Frustrated Rookie

Don't expect to be sight reading any time during Rookie. You're still building up practice just seeing the notes at this point. SJunior22 has good advice. I did a roll your own, do-it-yourself kind of thing, I would practice writing notes on hand drawn Grand Staffs and just learning one note to reco...

Re: How to download lesson

It should be automatic.

You click on the lesson. It pops up saying it is downloading. Then when it is done, it tells you to click again to enter the lesson. At least that's how it works for me. You might email support@playgroundsessions.com and ask them to help.

Re: Getting Stars/Credits

PlaygroundSessions.com has a pretty good FAQ in the Support section. For instance:

https://support.playgroundsessions.com/ ... arn-stars-

Browse the FAQ, there are answers to questions you haven't even thought of yet.

Primary topics people post: How to use Playground Sessions Progress you're making in the program Issues you are having using the app - though very often you'll be advised to contact support@playgroundsessions.com because they can do things with your log files that we "ordinary" users can't. Songs yo...

Re: No Android support??

There was an Android version of the app early on. Sadly, the Android platform is so scattered it was impossible to support, some Android devices failed to run at all, others were so slow as to be unusable, and only a few actually worked well enough (not that any were actually great). Android has com...

Re: Fingering adherence

My advice is if this is a boot camp lesson, try to use the suggested fingering at least the first few plays. They are also teaching you how to "flow" through the notes with the least tension. But if the suggested fingering doesn't fit your hand, after trying it, switch to what you hands can do. Just...

Re: When to change the staff mode from numbers to letters or without any?

One point on going back through Rookie after finishing it with the numbers off rather than turning them off earlier is that during the Rookie Bootcamp, we are ... Rookies. We have no clue where to put our hands and what fingers to use. Leaving the numbers on, or using them at least at the beginning ...

Re: You Raise Me Up Challenge

It was a concert recital with like 700 of us participating. Kids got portions of the melody. Rookies a simplified both hands portion, Intermediate got some nice challenging bits, and the advanced players got the hard stuff. You can watch the final version here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KPommH...

Re: Don't receive email notifications

Are you talking about the email notification for this forum? That seems to be broken. I thought they might update the forum software for that. But if you mean your normal, not forum, playground sessions account, that should be setup on the normal web page I do get notifications from there about new ...

Re: Bootcamp music theory way too complicated

When you say at the end of the program that there is a Glut of Music Theory - where? The program isn't only for Rookies. It should appeal to a range of skill levels. If you've made it to advanced, you should be ready for the music theory. Throughout the lessons are little sprinklings of Music Theory...
