This was happening to me to, but I tried clicking out of it, like going to my dashboard, then clicked back into it and then it turned green. But glad to hear they are trying to do a fix!!!

I had the same thought as you, what I started doing was using it to figure out where my fingers should go then used the note annotations to start learning the notes.
