Re: My starter setup

I'm tall. A Z-stand is infinitely better... and more stable. And you can put the pedal unit in a more natural position.

I'm using the same setup that I've been using since I sold my old Casio Privia PX560 to late, but not forgotten, PGS member Patrick John McHugh.

Re: Beter sound - solved

Just discovered that my MIDI cable (iConnectivity "Mio") has an optional downloadable MIDI driver that allows the MIDI signal to go to two (or more?) running programs simultaneously. Unlike a Mac, Windows 10 PCs won't do that without such a driver. Typical convoluted Windows solution, but it IS now...

Re: Original Scores?

Honestly, if you aren't abandoning PGS sometime in your learning (sooner for some, much later for others), then you aren't learning piano, you're just playing a video game. PGS does a great job of giving you a foundation, but if you want to play something besides what PGS offers, which is what you'...

Re: an independent metronome is very helpful

Type Metronome into Google and one will pop up on the Google page... or just install a free, or premium, one on your phone. You can't swing a dead cat on the internet without hitting an online metronome.

Re: Original Scores?

...The main reason that even advanced level arrangements of classical pieces are simplified is because all of our arrangements have to fit into our arrangement rubric to be consistent. We wouldn't want a piece to exceed the hardest level in Playground - Advanced Hard. So, you guys plan for customer...

Re: The ability to import our own arangments.

Right now I can live without this feature. However, as my facility with the piano increases, this will be a deal-breaker. As stated previously, Piano Marvel has this feature. So...

will this program work ok with a korg sv-1?
Of course it will. You might need the Korg USB driver. For Windows, here it is. If you are using something other than a PC, someone else will have to chime in.

Re: Old Casio Tone Bank CT-700

@Laurensss I didn't think of that. Probably not. I never use the PGS virtual piano (I'm either listening to the internal samples of my Kawai MP11SE or some other Piano Library e.g. Pianoteq, Ivory II, VI Labs, Addictive Keys, Keyscape etc...) So, it slipped my mind that most people probably do.
