Re: When to turn off fingering annotation

My 2¢: I try to figure out the fingering myself, turn on the fingering for double-checking and/or learning, and turn it off again, before I play it "for real".

Re: How do you switch hand positions quickly?

Are we talking about this part? 64-4.png Here you have to move only your thumb, not your whole hand. This is Rookie Bootcamp 64 (Scarborough Fair, Right Hand), Part 4 (Hand Position 3), bars 15-17. But I'm slightly confused, because this does not match your description with "5-finger position on G t...

Re: Starting hand position

Hi dapast18 In "real life" sheet music you may have multiple options, all depending on the editor and edition and publisher: "for beginners": usually contain some fingering, at the beginning and at (bigger) hand position changes. You'll just have to fill in the blank as they best fit "for advanced":...

Re: Help for setting the right focus

I can echo what lucidmusicinc wrote: take it easy, take it slow. It's not a coincidence that not everybody is a professional musician :) With PGS you either learn to play for fun or you start your journey as a musician, both are legit goals. And both are taking enormous amount of time. Just like lea...

Re: Music with Lyrics

I guess, you didn't mean that you purchased MIDIs from PlaygroundSessions. As far as I am aware, the backing tracks are not available for purchase. The only thing you can purchase is the music sheet (score), and you have limited printing opportunities (which is... another topic). But, related to you...

Re: She Will Be Loved Rookie - Hard Fingering Question

Hi ConnerJ Something small mishaps happen in fingering (or even a bad note in the score). Just report them in the forum, and eventually they will be picked up by the staff (of PGS, not magically in the staff of your score ;) ). A sidenote: Rookie - Hard - Bolero has also a very interesting, unnecess...

What sw1tch73ch wrote, that's essentially how you play it. ("From the wrist")

Re: How Many Courses Are There???

Currently (after completing the Intermediate Bootcamp, didn't start with Advanced yet), I see the following ("opening times" added from memory, I'm probably not precise or even mistaken by some opening times): Both hands practice (Rookie); opens pretty early in the rookie bootcamp Chrods practice - ...

Re: Is Playground Sessions for me?

Hi there (and hopefully welcome :)) I must say: PGS is for you. Not necessarily the song store, but the bootcamps and courses. I'm 5 months in, and I already saved a lot of money by getting a lifetime subscription instead of going to a real-life teacher. The bootcamps start at the very beginning, an...

Re: Tips for both hands wanted

@emptynoise: what you write is often how I feel. When I'm starting to staple together the two hands of a piece, I try to find a flow of the hands. When do they blend? When do they go apart? Is there a flow, or are there beats which are played together and I can use those as a mental pivot? This kind...
