Re: Tips for both hands wanted

For the most part I the same with the other responses here, practicing slowly is very helpful. If I have to I'll tackle hard sections without any tempo at all, instead going for 100% accuracy at my own pace until I feel like I can do it quickly and fluently enough to focus on timing it to a slow bea...

Re: External VST functionality

On Windows the process is a little hard thanks to quirks that keep multiple pieces of software from accessing the same midi device at the same time. However, I was able to get it to work using Tobias Erichsen's loopMidi software and FL Studio which is free (but has some limitations for free users, s...

Re: Extremely disappointed with the Song Library interface

I'm here for the content and not for the (although not optimal, but good-enough) software. More or less the same here, it's really hard to find beginner friendly music with a broad selection of pieces to practice. I don't really like the bootcamp, but it can be a good learning tool for the right pe...

Re: FINGERING VS LETTER OF NOTE NOTATIONS

when i sight read little easy pieces i notice i rarely look at the note names itself. i just see the note and know what key i need to press (its like automation). That's the smell of progress and improvement! It's a good thing, buuuuuuut... Don't ignore them altogether and forget the note names/how...

On the chance someone else searches for this in the future, you can also skip ahead to lesson 65 "Accidentals" to learn about sharps and flats.

And just in case you can't remember the exact date it's at the bottom of the 'your account' page when logged into the website.

Re: Why a lack of new content - is this the end?

I'm relatively new, but if the forums are any indicator the hanon course was just released in March and there have been song releases the past few weeks. Calling it the end is a bit alarmist. I would like to see more jazz (contemporary too!) and classical, but I don't mind pop music and it probably ...

Re: Lesson 75 inaccessible

You've probably already tried this, but double check the volume for videos under Edit -> User Settings Volume -> Videos If that doesn't work and you want to try checking the videos themselves you can follow the assets path I mentioned before in the download settings. In my case it was in %appdata%\P...

Re: Question about learning

PGS covers most of what you need for playing a lot of music. It's roughly equivalent to a couple years of middle/high school band instruction I had taken. Someone who is diligently paying attention to the lessons and trying to apply the material in the provided lessons or songs will learn enough to ...

Re: Lesson 75 inaccessible

Just a rando here, but have you tried changing the download source to see if that helps? You can find it in Edit -> User Settings -> Show Advanced Settings -> System -> Downloads. That page also lists the path to the assets folder for PGS, but after deleting the lesson (which was numbered differentl...
