Re: I have an iPad 4 but am having issues

The support team can be reached via support@playgroundsessions.com I have seen a few times that BlueTooth is not fully supported in the current edition of the app. I've also seen folks with success using it. I don't try with my keyboard because I use a windows box and Windows in general has had issu...

Re: Hello from Montreal Canada

Very cool. Oh, there is a live sessions nearly every week you might check if it is when you can see it. You can always post questions about the videos in the comments and they generally get looked at and responded to in another video (and sometimes right in the comment section if it can be answered ...

Re: Hello from Montreal Canada

Welcome Patrick! Playground Sessions will layout a lot of the foundation for what you are looking for. I'd like to suggest you also check out Playground Sessions' YouTube channel. There are more lessons there that discuss more theory and techniques you might want to be aware of. Assuming you haven't...

Re: Counting with Rookie Bootcamp lesson "Clocks"

That is an interesting "rhythm" in that lesson. Yeah, the quarter is the "1", the half the "and 2" then the quarter is "and" - then the dotted line, and of course the tie means don't lift from the quarter and just let it play through the whole note and count the "3 and 4 and". So I think you've got ...

Re: Counting with Rookie Bootcamp lesson "Clocks"

You've probably heard people counting "1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and". In this case, with 4/2 - the Half Notes get a full beat - a "1 and" and Quarter Notes get half a beat - so the "1" or the "and" or a "2" ... and so on. So "1 and 2 and 3 and 4 and" is eight Quarter Notes. You might notice that there ar...

Re: When to cont with bass clef

You can move forward. What I recommend is learning one note at a time. Start with the bottom or the top line of the clef. The top is the A just a couple white notes below Middle C. Or you could learn the G that is the bottom line - that will be more interesting, it is An Octave and then a bit more b...

Re: Learning the theory behind finding an optimal fingering?

There isn't any real set theory, but there are books on fingering - I don't own any and therefore have no specific recommendations. Fingering can be unique to the individual. All the fingerings in the program are based on an average hand. It is not necessarily optimal because smaller hands will have...

Re: Finger numbers vs notes on the staff

The time is how long you actually took playing an exercise to completion. If you aborted part way through, or looped the thing, that time doesn't add into the time spent. Basically you have to have that little pop up at the end of an exercise that shows your performance time and score. I don't remem...
