Re: 36 And thinking about starting playing piano

36 is YOUNG. Granted the best age to starting is as a child. The Suzuki and a few other "methods" prefer this. But for those of us normal people that weren't put into lessons as an infant (relatively speaking) 36 is plenty young enough to start. We have folks in the Facebook group that have just sta...

Re: Kawai CA98 to IPad 3

You have a few options. The easiest is the "USB To Host" port to a USB port "Camera Adapter." If I'm remembering correctly the iPad 3 had the 30 pin cable on the iPad side (correct me if I'm wrong). That Camera Adapter will likely be hard to find if you don't have one already. The cable for the Kawa...

Re: Yamaha MOX8 as midi controller/keyboard

Interesting that the MOX8 didn't like connecting to PGS via USB. My MX49 does it ok, and the MX is the "lower" level synth. I don't actually use it for PGS, though. I have a P-series 88 Keyboard for that. One thing to remember is the keyboard probably has a setting to choose the standard MIDI ports ...

My bad... I just realized you would lose the backing tracks when you change the speed. I didn't even notice til now....
I very often slow it down past the default slow speed, so I do spend a lot of time without the backing tracks getting the fingering and notes down.

Re: Error in A Major Triad lesson

Ah, I found it. It's exactly as you say, a D / A. I suspect, since this is the bass cleff and nothing likely to be played lower that it is a left over typo. Maybe in the full arrangement there is an F# on the Bass Guitar or something.

Re: Questions about Finger Position: Typo or Reasons Behind?

One thought, even if the thumb on Bb to A isn't the most comfortable, it might be teaching a needed skill. But I'm purely guessing. I don't really know why it was chosen that way.

Re: Questions about Finger Position: Typo or Reasons Behind?

Thank you sw1tch73ch for the information! I made myself to get used to that fingering and finally got 100% on that song (Bootcamp Intermediate #60-3) but coming to #60-7 and #60-8, it was impossible. Keys are changed from E-flat to F-major starting from #60-7 and this fingering doesn't make any sen...

Re: Questions about Finger Position: Typo or Reasons Behind?

There should have been mention of that. It is relatively normal, depending on the notes leading up to that sequence. I have had that a couple of times where the thumb has to scootch quickly from one note to the next from one beat to the next, or faster

Re: Flat Symbol not showing for chords

For some reason, after applying the fix, the next Windows update removed the feature again. So once fixed, it might not stay that way for everyone. We'll see how long it sticks around for me this time. At the moment I'm on Windows 10 version 1809.
