Re: Extremely disappointed with the Song Library interface

I've only been on for a few weeks or so and have only noticed a few annoying things so far that I have worked through. The software crashes if you have another program open that is using the midi. There should be an error message that states another program is using it. Not a big deal once you disc...

Re: FINGERING VS LETTER OF NOTE NOTATIONS

Don't feel useless Westman77. It takes time and practice. It is easy for people to forget that. The only person you are racing is yourself, and even that isn't necessary. You do want to push yourself to do something you haven't be able to before, but you don't have to be able to immediately. So, one...

Re: Real piano

The current best tech for converting an acoustic to MIDI is essentially an 88 pickup system similar to the six pickups used on an electric guitar. Basically, every set of strings (up to three strings per key) have a pickup. When that set of strings are struck, the pickup activates. Even that isn't a...

Re: My starter setup

Nice setup.

Regarding the X Stand - I have long legs and do knock into those when I use them (at least the double braced X stands like yours). A z-stand or in my case, a furniture stand, keeps my knees out of trouble.

Re: Misrepresentation

Furthermore, to your point, John, the player system on the piano has to be able to transmit MIDI data outward. A standard player system receives data for automatic performance. But the Disklavier pianos do work well with Playground. Andrew Good catch. I was using, perhaps inadvisably, the player sy...

I'm not an admin, but I can say this forum is for social interaction even more than it is for troubleshooting and customer feedback. Explore the other topics and you find many are about users like us encouraging each other, or offering user based advice (like what kind of pianos we like, and other t...

Re: Rookie question on memory of notes on staff

Hello Paul. I used the landmark system to learn to recognize the notes on sheet music. I do also do as SJunior22 says and visualize the location on the piano keyboard of each note as I am reading. This is all very slow at first, but will build up skill and speed in time. I started at the very beginn...

Re: New to piano playing - need an advice for 2 handed playing practise

Playing slowly is my technique for conquering two hands together. I go slower than the default slow speed. Then I speed up in small increments, keeping at the edge of being able to keep up with it. As I become comfortable at a given tempo, it is time to speed up again. All the way up to full tempo.
