Re: Has anyone found the Fur Elise course really difficult?

Hi Loujul! I would offer some advice if you have any desire to play the song at normal speed. First, listen to the song from your favorite source (CD, Youtube, Spotify, Etc). Listen to it over and over. Second, keep playing/practicing the song and at ever so often (weekly, monthly), play a phrase (...

Re: On a 7 day trial... is it worth it?

Hi Paulo! I just wanted to jump in here as well to give you another perspective. I whole-hearted agree with all of EFlatMajor's points. You should evalutate how dedicated are you going to be in 6 to 12 months from now. The first few months are like the euphoric "happy" times. However, when the chal...

Re: Has anyone found the Fur Elise course really difficult?

Hi glenmccarty! I'm working on the "Advanced-Hard" version of "Fur Elise" (bought in the Song Store). A few things I know when trying to play something that's a bit out of reach from your current level is, your foundations are going to be tested. If your "muscle memory", abilities to anticipate wha...

Hello again! Thank you very much for the kind feedback. I'm very glad you found some help with what I wrote. As a disclaimer, this is advice only valid from my experiences with the instruments I've learned over the years. I'm sure you know, everyone learns differently and there are an infinite amou...

Re: Fairly new... and struggling (advice needed)

Hi PianoTom! From what you've wrote, there's alot to unpack; so I'll give it my best here: First off, three hours a week, for the last nine months = 144 hours (give or take). That's a strong amount of hours, the question is, are those hours consistent? Have you practiced at the usual time and day (...

Re: Electronic Piano to buy?

Hi ronnydee!

I'm playing on a Yamaha P-115 and love it. I mainly got it for the full 88-weighted-keys configuration and the price was about middle of the road.

My advice is to get a full 88-keys that are weighted.

Wish you all the best!

Re: Beginner advice?

Hi ronnydee! I'm a fellow drummer as well! Yes, Playground Sessions will help make you into a competent piano player so you can conquer any song you wish to learn/play. I started PS as a complete beginner. Had enough relevant-info from playing drums (basic music theory, can read sheet music) but it...

Re: Timing question

Hi Helen+C! 4/2 time signature.. The top number indicates how many beats in a measure (in this case, its 4) The bottom number indicates which note gets the beat and the type of notes in the measure (in this case its every "2" and "4" gets the beat and there will be 4 - half notes in every measure, ...

Re: Teach chord along music song in playground sessions

Hello Hung! My advice to your questions are as follows: 1. Yes, you should learn every lesson in the Rookie, Intermediate, and Advanced Bootcamps (especially if you are just learning Piano). I would also advise you to avoid the "I have to get 100% on everything" pitfall. As long as you understand w...
