Browse Back Button

I ran across a request for a way to go back similar to how it works in a web browser. Since I can't find it again, a new post to reinforce that request. I followed a link in the forum while within the Playground Sessions application and found I couldn't get back to the usual parts of the application...

Re: inefficient steps to progress to the next lesson?

I'm going to second tsadi's comments on the routine needed to move to the next lesson. Perhaps we need a "next lesson" link that goes to the first incomplete lesson. So if you just finished 20, you click the "next lesson" to get to 21. If you haven't downloaded that lesson yet, it would prompt you w...

What does it mean, the green check mark?

So I have three lessons that do not display the green check mark. Lessons 13, 14 and 15 of the Rookie Boot Camp, which show "Completed X of X" (either 4 of 4 or 5 of 5), and even have 100% on each step for the lesson when I pull up that lesson. I ran through the lessons again, but no check mark. Wha...

Greetings and Salutations from Sw1tch73ch

I suggested the "introductions" post after I scrolled through the General Chat topics and didn't find any thing where we would introduce ourselves. So I'm made a topic in General Chat for it. Now there is a whole proper section for it! Yay! This is a recap and edit of my original post in the General...

Re: Better Windows tablet interaction

I'll add the Lenovo Yoga laptops, Yoga Pro 2 in my case, to the folding flat kind of touch screen laptop into a tablet system. I don't use my laptop with my piano keyboard though. I have a tiny Intel NUC (next unit of computing) with a full size monitor (34" :D ). The NUC is 4 inches by 4 inches by ...

Re: Add daily scales practice

I think a point here is that the boot camp lessons are great lessons. They do offer good practice, but we need some nice pure practice modes. Scales, Hanon Finger Exercises, and other keyboard fingering and familiarization exercises are needed. Especially if we get credit for the time spent working ...

Re: Theory tests /quizzes

I'd like to second this. Playing music is largely muscle memory. Understanding music, though, and advancing to greater proficiency reading it, requires mental memory. I recall an article on Piano Pedagogy about using flash cards and other devices with young and/or beginning students. A computer scre...

Re: Feature Request: Automatic stop at error

I actually like that the system doesn't stop just because I made an error. One of my difficulties is that I do stop when I do something I know isn't correct. Imagine you are playing accompaniment for someone and stopped just because of a foul note! It will sound bad and you'll wish you had played be...

Re: 3 Weeks and I'm Done!

Richard hasn't been active since May this year, so I don't expect he'll reply, but I do have a question for the general populous here. How common is it for people to complete this in three weeks? I've been working on the Rookie Level for about three weeks and am only part way through the Rookie boot...

Forum Introductions

I scrolled through the General Chat topics and didn't find any thing where we would introduce ourselves. So I'm starting this topic. If there is already such a topic, point me there! With any social structure the success often depends on community support and friendships built there. So I'd like to ...
