Re: Real piano
I've seen acoustic to digital, MIDI enabled, conversion kits for around $2000 (sans installation)... which is about what a Kawai VPC1 midi controller keyboard (i.e. what Billy Joel plays in concert hidden in a wooden PSO (piano shaped object)) costs. And, it's about what a Roland RD2000 costs, if yo...

Re: Accompaniment Becomes Un-Synced
Actually, this pretty much happens with all of the Basic Boot camp Lessons when I select measures to practice.

Re: Infiltrating from the Facebook Playground Sessions Group
That's good to hear, because I bought the Kawai MP11SE.

Accompaniment Becomes Un-Synced
I've noticed that, at least in the Bootcamp lessons, if I make a mistake and stop before the end of a section, the accompaniment will often become out of sync with the metronome and PGS "hands." I'm using and over-the-top music production workstation with a fresh install of Windows 10 on a brand new...

Re: Infiltrating from the Facebook Playground Sessions Group
Howdy, Stu. I'm in the Facebook group too, as paul sterrett. I'm usually blathering on trying to justify (to myself) the purchase of a wholly unnecessary Kawai MP11SE (or VPC1).

Re: So what's next?
Having had a computer since the days of 300 baud acoustic modems and local BBSes, I prefer dedicated forums too. However, it only makes sense that the PGS team would focus on Facebook. Facebook has a huge user-base. And the PGS group on FB is more likely to catch the attention of people who aren't a...

Time Points
Time points should, IMHO, accrue whether you finish a given section of a lesson or not. You still put in however much time before you crashed, burned, and started over.

My piano sound is from a VST acoustic grand piano sample library called Addictive Keys. It runs on the com...

Re: Learning by reading notes not numbers
I turned the numbers and note names off immediately. I could see, right away, that they would become a crutch. And, like the previous poster, Scirocco, said there are dozens of musical notation practice apps for your phone. I use them at work whenever I have downtime... especially for practicing the...
