All music is copyrighted; the question is the licensing of the music. Creative Commons music would be fair game - pretty much anything else will require negotiation with either the artist or the publisher. I don't use a Mac, so I'll have to keep this generic to any computer. The way Playground does the accompaniment is with audio files.
