Re: Practice approach

Hi Dan, I tried to hold off on replying to your post because my answer to your question would have been "Your practice method should be what works best for you" - a completely true yet completely useless answer. I will tell you what I did and you can take or leave any portion you like. I started off...

Re: have you used Hanon exercises?

That is fantastic news that the Hanon exercises will be part of PGS at some point in the future. I am one of those that practice the Hanon exercises outside of PGS - to build strength in fingers 4 and 5. All these exercises are in a book named "The Virtuoso Pianist" and is freely available in PDF fo...

Re: Plaground moves to main monitor on startup

Just in case Windows wants to create the PGS window where your mouse pointer is. Another option might be to create a Windows Desktop Shortcut for PGS on the monitor...

Re: Running under linux

No, I never resolved that issue. Not spending any time on it. I am just glad that WINE works at all. No problem exiting PGS and restarting if I forget to connect the keyboard first.

Re: Running under Linux - WORKS!

Hello All, Taking a few minutes at lunch to share my findings on running PGS on top of WINE on Linux. I was motivated to work on this because I am a full time Linux user, and every music tool I use (except for PGS) I use on Linux. Making things worse, for PGS I was using a 2007 era Dell Windows Vist...

Billy Joel - Root Beer Rag

Request - Billy Joel/Root Beer Rag. I think this beast would be just as much a challenge for the developers as the learners. For me, if I could play the advanced version of this successfully, I could definitely call myself a piano player. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seqWdC1hPt8 This link takes y...

Another new player

Hello All, I played a little bit years ago as a kid, and about the only thing I remember today were the key names. I did the 30 day demo and bought the lifetime subscription because I liked the feature set of Playground Sessions and it costs a heck of a lot less than a teacher. Best of luck to you a...
