tempo setting is reset if progress chart is checked
Often I set the tempo slower than the default. If I have done so and I go to check my progress "view segment progress", when I return to the lesson, the tempo is back at the default setting.

Re: advanced #11: two voices, timing in a measure
Thanks for the responses, guys. Andrew, I read your reply carefully. I thought a picture might be worth a thousand words. See the graphic I made of the measure. https://imgur.com/6eFUKDZ The top measure is as it is written in the lesson. The bottom measure is how it sounds to me as played in the dem...

advanced #11: two voices, timing in a measure
I'm confused by the timing of the second (lower) voice within measure 5 (and others similar) of this lesson. The lower voice has two dotted quarter notes in this measure. Since each measure is 6 beats and an eighth note gets one beat (6/8 time) that tells me that each dotted quarter note in the meas...

inhibit the intro paragraph when playing is stopped
I find it very useful on longer pieces to be able to see down the score to compare sections of the music since there is often a subtle change between sections. I go to full screen display to see as much as possible. As it is now, there is a paragraph on a grey background that introduces the piece wh...

advanced lesson 9, two voices, fingering
In this piece, why does the right hand fingering alternate between 1-4 and 1-5 instead of simply using 1-4 or 1-5 only?

an independent metronome is very helpful
I found an electronic metronome that someone had thrown away and discovered it is a great aid in practicing difficult passages. AFAIK PS has no way of letting its metronome run continuously independently and this is where the external one comes in handy I set the independent metronome for a slow tem...

That's the solution. I'm following it and it's working. Patience is everything!

racing...going too fast in a difficult passage
I am practicing Brahm's Hungarian Dance #5 (advanced tour #6) that includes three measures of 16th notes, rapid fingerwork. What's strange is that I find I can play these measures fine at almost normal tempo if I play them alone. If I play the entire selection, I can't get through the same measures ...
