Re: Trouble with keeping time? Here's an idea...or a few.

Hi Lola! First off, dont feel alone or you're not cut out to being a musician. Some of us are born with the ability to sense rhythm, others have to develop it. I sense you have work on it and you are amongst MILLIONS of people who have walked that path. There is a reason why you joined PGS and you ...

Re: Pentascales vs 1-octave scales

Hi jeffjones2032! Pentascales are 5-note scales (minor or Major). This means you only play 5 keys and you never learn to pivot. So this could be considered a very beginner start towards learning scales. I would not reccommend this method unless you are severely struggling with learning/coordinating...

Re: octave practice

Hi Tveale51! You should encounter your first scale lesson in rookie bootcamp at lesson #74 (I think). You'll learn C Major (the easiest and best-first scale to learn). From that, you'll be able to figure out every other Major and minor scale. I encourage you to research outside of PGS the Major and ...

Re: octave practice

Hi again Tveale51! I'm glad my last post helped. However, I might be able to accelerate you a tad while you are in Rookie Bootcamp. This is something you're going to learn anyways and I think the sooner you learn them and begin to practice them - the better. 1-Octave Scales is one of the very founda...

Re: octave practice

Hi Tveale51! I presume that you are still in "Rookie Bootcamp", with that, you'll encounter octaves in lesson 76. I also presume this will unlock "1-octave scales" module in your "Courses" section. Taking from what you've said, I dont think you've made it that far yet. I hope this helps and wish you...

Re: completing intermediate course

Hi DrKewel! If you are disappointed with the lack of some recognition from Playground Sessions for completing Intermediate courses/Bootcamp, I'd advise you to expect the same outcome for when you complete the Advanced courses/Bootcamp. For what I can offer is to help understand that all of these "Bo...

Re: Getting Started

Hi bontemp! Playground sessions lets you determine where you want to start. Bootcamps are for the fundamentals and the courses are extra focus lessons. Courses also contain activities outside of the Bootcamp scope that can supplement your playing repitore (learn how to play "Prelude in C", particip...

Re: Frustrated Rookie

Hi JAW1982! I'm currently working on completing full songs as I completed all of the lessons in each bootcamp last month. I still sometimes have a hard time translating notes to piano anywhere in the Grand Staff. The best advice I'd offer is that you might want to adjust your expectations. You got ...

Re: Where should I start from?

Hi alexbiship! You get to determine how to learn the piano. Since no one learns the same way, the path is entirely up to you. Consider the "Bootcamps" as the fundamentals to learning and playing the piano. The "Courses" are meant to supplement what you've learned with the corresponding "Bootcamp" l...
