Re: Am I confused?

Lesson 47, #5 is "Prelude in C", Coordination 1. Is that correct? In case yes, your interpretation is correct: the first key played is middle c, with you left, and one half note later E an octave above with your right. Both are held for their own duration and the duration of the extra whole note bec...

Re: Pay attention, Mr. McGoo...

Oh wow, where should I start? - When I'm playing and enjoying it too much and forget to start the next bar because I'm holding the chord and the last notes from the former bar too long? - When I'm at last trying to play through a (for me) difficult piece (even if it's just a 30 seconds excerpt in a ...

Re: Sustain Pedal Not Working?

The "sustain pedal" does not change how something sounds, but how long (it sustains the sound, duh!) Try the following: - hit a key (let's say MiddleC ;) ) and release it → the sound is cut of instantly - now press the sustain pedal, keep is pressed, hit the same key and release it → the sound stays...

Re: Piano demo not working...

As I use a MIDI-capable keyboard, of which I like the sound more than the built-in synthethiser in PGS, I usually have the PGS piano muted. If you have it muted, you won't hear the sounds played during the demo. Edit > User Preferences > Volume > Piano In case you are not even seeind the playback (i...

Re: Confused about the time sig and count...

Hi MiddleC No worries, you'll get there! There is a block of lessons in the Rookie Bootcamp about counting and time signatures: lessons 36-39. But until then a quick summary: the number on the top says "how many of the time units are in one measure", the number on the bottom says "what is our time u...

Re: Video performance - Prelude in C

Thanks again for the kind words :)

Faster does not mean it's better by any means, especially for such a classical piece that can be played in a million different ways. I just wanted to play without a metronome and this is what I ended up with. Apparently my internal clock is ticking fast

Re: Video performance - Prelude in C

Wow... this was a long haul. Recording the full song took many takes, and I also missed on the focus. Well... still, hopefully it's enjoyable to some extent. The text above was what I felt, when I played the different phrases.

Cheers

Re: Prelude in C - no practice points

I noticed the same, you get time points but no practice points. I guess it's just the way the course/challenge is set up (otherwise you would get overwhelmingly many points with just this course, I guess, and who knows, maybe they have some plans with the point system in the new version of the softw...

Re: C & C start and end each LESSON!

Oh yes, one of the best "hidden" feature of PGS :)

It works on bigger keyboards as well: on a full 88 you have to hit the lowest (A0) and highest (C8) note at the same time instead of the keys (C2/C7) mentioned by Juxx.

Re: Finger independence

Hi Vishy It comes with practice and doing exercises like the scales or Hanon (both available under "courses", when you are far enough in the Bootcamps). Apart from that something like "A dozen a day" comes to mind: https://www.amazon.com/Dozen-Day-Book-One-Lehrmaterial/dp/0711954313 if you are willi...
