lesson 42 key signature and count-in
I'm on lesson 42 that uses the song "Sorry" according to the time signature (a C with a vertical line through it) the timing is 2/2, but the countdown is "1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, set, go" as if it were 4/4. Interestingly, if I slow the timing to 50 BPM or slower, the countdown changes to "1, 2, set, go" w...

the biggest challenge for me is nerves
I can get a lesson down fine but doing it perfectly is something else. Sure, it's silly to be nervous when you are only performing for yourself on an electronic keyboard that nobody else can hear, but even so, I find I have to do a piece over and over and over again, each time making some mistake I ...

No problem, I figured that what you describe might be the case.

Re: bluetooth headphone audio delay
Thanks, Andrew. I sent it back for a refund and will stick with the wired headphones.

bluetooth headphone audio delay
I just set up a bluetooth headphone with my laptop that I use for PS. It sounds great, but the delay the moment I strike a key until I hear it makes it impossible to use with PS. My wired headset works fine. My guess is there is no way to avoid this delay. It isn't a fault of PS. Has anyone else had...

an update took away the section I was practicing
I have been working hard on 1st and 3rd inversions in the Intermediate bootcamp. Today I was chugging away at it when suddenly I was notified there is an update taking place. When the update finished, the section I am practicing is gone leaving only the video tutorial "Chords on the Keyboard 3" Shoo...

finding your place in all that ivory
I'm in the intermediate bootcamp and the chords are a challenge. I'd been going over and over them trying to get a feel for where to place my fingers when I realized that the person who came up with the exercises is trying to make it as easy as possible to move through chords by keeping at least one...

there's something about music that we all love
I have two grandkids in a home with a piano that nobody knows how to play. The other day, the kids were romping around and I went over to the piano and began to play a simple sequence of chords I had learned with PS. The kids suddenly looked up and stared at me in silence - how is this neat sound co...

Paul: It's been a couple of months since your post - how's it going?
I'm right behind you at 67 years of age and I'm having lots of fun with each new challenge in the course.

Re: Roll Call!
I'm Clif Brown in Chicagoland and I challenge anyone to surpass me in age: a piano learner at 67. I don't care what people say about needing to be 5 years old to learn to play, the challenge is always there and progress can be made at any age. I'm about halfway through the intermediate bootcamp and ...
