Re: stuck in lesson 41(practice tecniques)

Here is a sample image of what I mean by drawing out the keyboard and finger positions. At the Top in Red is the starting position. Then the Blue shows the first change as you put the pinky on C and ring finger on B and stretch down with the thumb to D and then from the index finger on E back up to ...

Re: stuck in lesson 41(practice tecniques)

HINT: YOU ARE ALLOWED TO LOOK AT THE KEYBOARD!!! I am only partially trying to be funny. Look at the keyboard if you need to. It is good to learn how to play and know where your hands are without looking, but that doesn't mean it is bad to actually look. Watch professionals and you'll see they look ...

Re: keyboard out of sync

There is a setting for Latency in the app that can help. You would adjust the numbers either up or down, depending on why your system is out of sync. If the number is too small, the computer has trouble keeping up with generating the audio, if it is too big, it causes everything to be behind. You ne...

Re: Song Recommendations?

Get them all! OK, Just kidding. Even with the currently somewhat limited selection, there are too many to choose from. So far I've only completely "Lean On Me" - but I also have "Day Dream Believer," "O Holy Night," "Primavera," and "Viva La Vida." "O Holy Night" is my next project so I can have it ...

Re: Sound Output - It's a Dealbreaker

The challenge with trying to route MIDI signals to the MIDI device is a lot of, perhaps even most, people do not have a full set of orchestra and electronic voices on their devices. Examples are the Yamaha CLP series or Arius Series pianos. The compromise was, for programming consistency, to create ...

Re: Kawai CN21 compatability?

The send of one side has to talk to the receiver of the other. It depends on the brand MIDI device you use - some of them like my Roland UM-1 are labeled explicitly "Connect to MIDI IN" or "Connect to MIDI OUT" where as some cables just say "MIDI IN" and "MIDI OUT". If yours just says "MIDI IN" and ...

Re: Best tablet for Playground Sessions

You might look at a used Microsoft Surface. They are full Windows computer (just don't get one with an Atom processor - you'll need at least a Core i3) and so they can use the desktop version of Playground Sessions and can installed the proper drivers to work with all the MIDI keyboards. The Android...

Hello Dario! With Playground Sessions you don't need luck! Take your time and don't rush. Go just fast enough that you're always pushing new ground, but not so fast you get worn out of discouraged. That is different for each person, so for some they can run full sprint and finish all the tutorials i...

Re: Roll Call!

Welcome to the forums, Maureen! It's good to see you here. Since it is not entirely obvious from my user name, I'm John Sandlin on Facebook. I discovered Playground Sessions when Yamaha promoted them in the summer of 2016. I joined in September last year - and found the Forums in October. I started ...

Re: How to play guitar 'piano-style' on an actual piano?

I think it is called Piano Accompaniment... maybe... LOL The team has told us that they are working on plans, or at least thinking about them, for lessons about playing piano as an accompaniment. The original scope of Playground Sessions was focused on playing piano as a solo instrument that include...
