Re: Is there a Harry Connick Jr Piano Course?
Phil is Mr PGS and yet hardly any of his videos are featured in the app, with exception to scales and chords courses, which is a shame. I can understand that the record labels like to stifle creativity with their copyrights claims, making it hard for other people to share their musical IP, which is ...

Re: Sight Reading hopeful for PGS
People have different goals and are at different stages in their journey of playing piano. Me personally i want to become a better sight reader. Even after taking PGS all the way through my sight reading ability was dreadful. I do get joy out of just figuring stuff out but it makes things easier wh...

Re: Sight Reading hopeful for PGS
Here's my hot take on said music learning app: 1. It has hundreds, possibly thousands of exercises from well known publishers and artists 2. It gets used by institutions training professional musicians 3. It has endorsements by well respected musicians So what's not to like? It looks like it was des...

Re: Sight Reading hopeful for PGS
In my opinion this app demonstrated in the linked video is terrible. I used it for all of 15 minutes before I quit in disgust. I can't understand how institutions and high level performers endorse this nonsense. PGS may be a little behind in terms of having as formalised a syllabus, but the experien...

something as simple as a starred lesson/song feature (e.g. current songs/lessons that you're working through or you've achieved some mastery on it and you can add it to a starred setlist)

Re: PS just to play songs?
I completed the rookie bootcamp and all the rookie courses months ago. I'm halfway through the intermediate bootcamp. Intermediate is tough because you're expected to read and play quickly and my sight reading/coordination can't keep up with the program. I'm quite stumped. I've been learning rookie ...

Re: None of my songs have videos
Lots of PGS videos done by Phil who is a great teacher on Youtube. A shame they don't incorporate those videos in the app but I'm told it's for "licensing" reasons that the video lessons can't be put into the app and must stay on YouTube. Go there, I'm sure you'll find a video for that song.

Re: Help for setting the right focus
I would say work on the songs... Rookie and intermediate. Some intermediate pop/rock songs are easier than the classical rookie songs. With songs each practice session can always teach you something new. For example you can struggle your way through a song and manage a 100 % score finally, but did i...

Re: Reading notes vs practicing other courses or the bootcamp - priority and timeline?
Playground offers a lot of classical songs free of charge. While bootcamps are helpful, I think you'll get more satisfaction tackling the songs.
