I have purchased a couple of Midi sheet music songs, but they never have the lyrics. Why is that and is there a place I can find midi music with lyrics.

I guess, you didn't mean that you purchased MIDIs from PlaygroundSessions. As far as I am aware, the backing tracks are not available for purchase. The only thing you can purchase is the music sheet (score), and you have limited printing opportunities (which is... another topic).

But, related to your question: MIDI doesn't support vocals, apart from limited acapella capabilities. This is how the format has been designed. What is there is MIDI with lyrics: for karaoke. You can store the lyrics (text), and then a proper player can show it to you, synchronised to the sounds of the MIDI itself.
