Hello,
as a new student I will be traveling a lot for work. Is there a very small keyboard that I can take along with me for practice? I don't want to buy something cheap that won't feel right either. I was thinking of getting a MIDI keyboard that has weighted keys for practice. Since I am in bootcamp most of the notes are within one octave so would a 25 key work to keep my fingers in check?? The Akai MPK 225 was the one that I have been eyeballing..
Is this a good plan or would something else be better for a newb?

I'd recommend a 49 key MIDI controller. that'll enable you to play all the rookie material once you get there!

Alesis or Novation would be my go to's.

me personally, I travel with my regular Roland FP-30, not small not bulky either.

I like the idea of a midi 25 key. By using the octave shift you should be able to practice the single had routines. I have a 61 and 49 so I might try it to round out my collection.
