Considering a Yamaha P-125 with stand/pedals as starter

Post by delaneybob » Fri Oct 23, 2020 10:55 pm

Hi,
Played clarinet for 8 years growing up and want to learn piano. Considering the Yamaha P125 here https://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-Digital-D ... op?ie=UTF8

I am wondering the best setup for playground and this stand will be up against the wall and i have an extra 12" surface but think it will be too small. Do folks get a 32"TV and use that for a monitor or what are some suggestions for a good setup given I plan to get this piano and stand.

Thanks in advance for the help!

I'd recommend wall mounting a TV or Monitor to the wall in front of the stand. One that can go side to side AND up and down. It should also swivel clockwise/counter clock wise in case you don't mount the monitor 100% level.

I would get a different stand. Probably a dual keyboard stand like this: https://www.amazon.com/Stage-KS7365EJ-H ... nts&sr=1-4
Something that is sturdy! You don't want it wobbling around on you while playing.

Position the the higher level stand close together and put a wireless keyboard with touchpad on it like this: https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Illumin ... 201&sr=8-4

You'll be spending countless hours here. You want to make sure you are comfortable and have the freedom to move things around to best suit you.

Get a surge protector too.

If you have the extra money, I'd recommend buying longer power and data cables for the monitor and keyboard so you can do some nice cable management.

Future upgrades would be speakers and a mixer like this: https://www.amazon.com/Yamaha-MG10XU-10 ... 223&sr=8-5
