Pauses, not detected?

Post by Viegaard » Thu Mar 11, 2021 7:02 pm

Hi! I am new. I am currently doing the Rookie course. I noticed that if I am playing a note and hold it through a "pause" or whatever you call the thing, - , represents it still takes it as played correct?

Shouldn't the program tell me if I am holding the notes during a part where I shouldn't?

Best Regards, Thomas.

Hello Thomas, welcome to the program.

I think the word you are looking for is "rest".

You aren't doing anything wrong. The version of the app that I am using does not use the MIDI information for key release or for how hard you pressed the key. So you can hold the keys for as long as you like or until you need to use that finger again. You won't get a red note.

I am guessing a future version of the app will take this into consideration.

You can always send email to customer support and ask them what is up.

Good luck.

Yes, I think this is kind of oversight especially in rhythm lessons and lessons after that. Silence is equally important than played note when talking about rhythm. At least there should be an option to turn this on if someone doesn't want to it work the current way.
