Sight reading practice?

Post by rasheemo » Sun May 07, 2017 9:39 pm

So i'm about halfway through beginner bootcamp and I really really need to practice identifying notes on the sheet instead of looking at the numbers. I can't find any place in the software that would let me practice sight reading. Am I missing something? Not sure if this is supposed to be a basic functionality because some of my friends are telling me I need to start practicing that separately to get anywhere.

Thanks in advance!

Hi rasheemo,

You can turn off the numbers. Look in the upper toolbar, you will see that you can toggle between the fingerings, letter names and nothing at all (normal sheet music). We plan on adding in new materials to the Bootcamp that focus on letter names and reading.

Switch from finger numbers to note names or even nothing with the buttons up top :) It's indeed not a good habit to "play by numbers".

Good luck!
