The explanation for the scroll bar slightly changing speeds is that, while a measure of 4/4 has a fixed duration in time, its physical spacing on the page might not be always the same - sometimes there are 4 bars per system, sometimes 2, etc, depending on how many notes there are. The scroll bar has to adjust for this, and there's not really anyway around it, as all notated music has this issue with it.

Okedokey. Thanks for the discussion peeps. I've gotten a bit used to it (other technical issues notwithstanding). Is it just me, though, but it seems like when I click the looping function (play over and over), this issue is less noticeable? Also, oftentimes now I just play from the screen without pressing play, as if it's sheet music, after I've listened a few times with accompaniment on.
