Scrollbar gets stuck as soon as MIDI interface is connected

I am starting with the rookie lessons.Unfortunately I did not get far since I realized that as soon as I connect the MIDI interface to my piano (Yamaha Clavinova CLP-695GP), the vertical line that scrolls from left to right while practicing where to play the key gets stuck every one or two seconds. When the interface is not connected to mi Ipad, the scrollbar moves smoothly as it is supposed to do. Consequently it is impossible to play the note at the proper moment. Please help me, it is really frustating.
