50% Only

I am very confused. I am plalying the bootcamp lessons with my Macbook Pro and playing it as perfect as I can and it will only score 50% everytime. I have a daughter who has a Masster's in music and it does the same for her. What could the problem be? I feel I cannot move on properly at only 50%.

Have a MacBook Pro too. Some thoughts: Don't use bluetooth headphones or b/w computer and keyboard. Wires all the way to prevent sync issues.
In the preferences (or click the cog when in bootcamp), make sure the correct sound devices are selected so you can hear the count in and accompaining music.
