Bootcamp Rookie lesson 41

Post by Mark Parkinson » Fri Apr 22, 2016 6:20 am

In lesson 41 1/12 at meassure 13 the D is noted with a fingering of 2 this is inconsistant wth the previous and following fingerings in that lesson.

in lesson 41 2/12 at messures 17-32 The D is again noted with a fingering of 2 again inconsistant with previous fingerings in the lesson.

I have been using your program for a month now after not sitting at a piano for more than 45 years, I am finding the lessons well laid out and the format rewarding in a way that my first lessons years ago were not. I am looking forward to progressing through more of your lessons.

Hello,

I am having a hard time finding the issue in lesson 41 and would like to help you out. Is this New World Symphony composed by Dvorak?

Thank you,

Thomas

Your lessons seem to be different then mine...I only have 10 sections for 41 and in section 2, measures 17-32 the note is a G not a D....Did you recently download that lesson?

I'm noticing the same inconsistency in the finger position in Exercise 1, measure 21 and also for Exercise 2 measures 17-32. I have to remind myself to ignore the fingering suggestion. Yes, this is for New World Symphony by Dvorak.

I'm having the same issues for Exercise 1, measure 13 and Exercise 2, measures 17-32. It was distracting to have the wrong finger indicated for those measures. I had to remind myself to ignore it. Yes this is for New World Symphony by Dvorak.

I find that there are strange numbers and notes popping up all the time, but I do find it difficult knowing where to look and sometimes distracting!... There are the notes, the fingering numbers and the chord names!

I'm not really intrested in learing music well enough to play straight from the sheet of music in front of me, so I tend to listen to the melody and timing and build up playing it by memory.. I do use all the other indicators as an aid. You do have to get the notes spot on to get through the exercise.

I suppose this raises the question, Do I want to learn to read music, or play and/or do you have to do both? I'd like to hear others' comments about this?

On the plus side.. it shows that your hearing is improving.. you can tell when it's not the right note! ;)

Happy Playing!
