I'm enjoying myself with Intermediate 32... looking at how inversions are used to make life easiser when it comes to moving from one chord to another.
David say, 'If you don't have to move... Don't .. Stay Put!'
Now in the lesson and exercise, the progresion of chords are, A, Bm, F"m and D... repeat and end on A.
When you move from Bm to F"m... you'll notice that you have to move your hand completely, but if you leave you little finger on F" you can simply drop your 3rd finger onto A and your Thumb on C".
From this postition, you only have to drop you Thumb to D, to be playing the D chord?
Isn't this an easier progression? Would like to know what others think?
It doesn't sound so mellow and not quite the same as the original, but it is the right chords and do we want to play exactly as someone else?
If you don't have to move.. Don't!

One reason to use inversions is to make your playing more fluid and you can often change chords around the way you want...... but depending on how you voice a chord, you can give it a different texture or sound and the chord may sound less solid in the song.
Also, sometimes you might want bigger jumps between chords to spice things up a bit

Hi Draco!
What you say makes sense!
Can you tell me if, Inversions and Voicings are the same thing?

Inversions are just one way you can voice chords but there is more to it then that.....chord voicing is all about what notes and spacings are used in a chord....for example, you could add a 9th or split the chord between two hands...and that's just the beginning
