Re: Timing
I thought it was just me....or more accurately, my computer. I figured some program or something was running causing Playground to stutter occasionally.

Re: Timing
Hi Russ1409,
I've experienced this before as well, but it usually happens when:
a. My computer has been on for a long time without being restarted
b. I have other programs open
c. I have internet tabs open
Try minimizing those situations and let me know if that fixes the issue.

Hi David;
Thanks for responding. I could see issue A happening, as I have a laptop solely dedicated to the Playground sessions. I don't open a browser unless I'm buying a song. But, since it just sits on my piano, it doesn't get restarted often. I'll keep an eye on things a see if I recognize a pattern.

Re: Timing
I have found that some music is shown in 4 measures per bar , while the next bar is 3 measures. This makes the moving cursor seemingly speed up, even though I know the tempo hasn't really changed, and it throws me off. I would like it to be standardized to 4 measures per bar, or truncate the 3 measures down to match the bar above.
I do occasionally experience a small hiccup in the timing, but it doesn't happen too often, and may be my pc.

Re: Timing
Hi Phil,
Generally, we try to format segments with 4, 6, or 8 measures per system. There are instances when there is no way around having an odd number. Let's say a segment has 11 measures. We might have one system of 6 measures and one system of 5, or we might have two systems of 4 measures and one system of 3. A lot of these formatting decisions take tempo, amount of notes and difficulty into account.

Re: Timing
I had the very same issue under Window 7 Professional and this is what I did to resolve the issue:
1) Close all other programs
2) Start Task Manager (CTRL/ALT/DEL) All three keys simaltanously will bring up Task Manaer.
3) Start Playground Sessions
4) Go into Task Manager and set the Task Priority of Playground Session to Realtime. Under the Processes tab find the Image Name, Playground Sessions. Then right click on Playground Sessions and select Set Priority and then select Realtime. I did this and was able to run other programs (email & Firefox) without anymore timing issues.
Good Luck,
StevieRay

Re: Timing
I need to try this. I'm running on a relatively low end Intel i3 system and occassionally see hicups in the program smoothness. This just might be the ticket to smoothing it out.StevieRay wrote:4) Go into Task Manager and set the Task Priority of Playground Session to Realtime.
I'd entirely forgotten about Task Priority when I set things up.
