iPad app stopped recognizing my keyboard

Post by dnalevol » Sun Aug 05, 2018 2:21 pm

I have a Casio keyboard that has been working with the ipad app for about a month. The app suddenly stopped recognizing my keyboard. The cables are about a month old. I've uninstalled the app and reinstalled with no luck. I tried connecting my ipad to a different keyboard and it doesn't recolonize that one either. Does anyone have any additional troubleshooting suggestions? This started right around the time I updated my iOS to 11.4.1.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about that issue! Here's a couple options you can explore:

1) Make sure Bluetooth on the iPad is disabled. The new iOS likes to enable this automatically, and by doing so, it interferes with MIDI communications.
2) Make sure you have the latest version of Playground installed on your iPad. It wouldn't hurt to simply redownload it from the app store.

The cables should work fine, but can you describe which cables and adapters you're using?

Best,
Andrew
