Kawai ES8 / KwikLoc Monolith / KwikLoc M2

Post by Gavala » Mon Apr 13, 2020 5:05 pm

Not 'geeky' but quite simple.

Keyboard: Kawai ES8.
Keyboard stand: QuickLoc Monolith.
Keyboard stand upper tier: Quiklok M2.

The keyboard shelf on upper tier was a plywood off-cut. Lip added at the front edge to prevent things slipping forward whilst tilted.

Thanks Westy.
I purchased the keyboard December 18 but had to wait 2 months for it from Japan as the UK importer said they were popular. Since then its been sat in the spare room until I signed up here a few weeks ago. Piano man Chuck gave it rave reviews and I trust him being uninfluenced by the manufacturers.

The monolith stand is so solid but for anyone reading the lowest height is only just low enough.

Always.

Nothing against other marque's. Kawai are just so Aston Martin in that hand built way.

I just purchased the following 3 way dictation pedal to command the 'space', D & C laptop keyboard strokes with my feet rather than the piano and laptop.

X-Keys market the exact same pedal but re-branded to target gamers and keyboard players. They box it along with some third party software to programme the pedal keys to your PCs keyboard at an inflated price of up to 300%, however I've spotted some third party free-ware which should work with this application.

Just ordered it and will update how it goes soon as it arrives.

BTW, I'll probably be using it with my heel.
