Re: Sound problems w iPad

Post by SFCable » Mon Nov 13, 2017 2:17 am

A lot of users have complained that they are experiencing sound issues with their iPad. The device has no sound at all when trying to play music, play a game, using FaceTime. It is happening irrespective of the iPad models. They have however found that this can happen right after an iOS upgrade or if you have an older iPad. Either way, this seems to be a very annoying issue.

In general, sound problems with the iPad can usually be traced back to these common fixes:

-set the sample rate to 44100 in settings.
-Make sure you're using the official apple lightning to USB camera adapter.
-Redownload the Playground app. Unplug all midi connections. Then, connect your set up in this order: plug the keyboard into the iPad, then turn the keyboard on, then launch the Playground app.
-Make sure you're plugging into USB to Host and NOT USB to Device.

All, let me know if you're experiencing difficulties still

Hi, I had this issue an U was getting sound for around 30 seconds when the app starts up. Once in the settings I couldn’t change some of the parameters and it would default to. network session 1.

To get past this I unplugged the iPad changed the sample rate to 44100 and the Piano to my Keystation 88. I then plugged back in and it worked and is now working all the time.

Hope this helps

Reinstalling the Playground app is usually a hit or miss when I'm having sound issues. Sometimes it helps, sometimes it doesn't. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Bobby,

Since this thread has been all over the place, can you email support@playgroundsessions.com about the sound problems you're having? We'll be able to answer more efficiently there.

It's also good to document in our system.

Just FYI, the app used to crash constantly (a month ago) until I disabled the piano sound (volume to 0). I use the piano sound from my keaboard and the accompaniment from the iPad and it's now mostly stable.
The other problem I have with sound is that randomly the accompaniment will go superspeed finishing by the time the bar is at 2/3 of he song. I stop/start the app and it usually solve the problem.
