Roland FA-08 compatibility?

Post by LostLess » Thu Aug 10, 2017 2:00 am

I searched the forums for any information compatibility with the FA-08, and did not see anything, hence my post.

I connected my iPad to the FA-08 with the Lightning to USB cable and got the message of "device not supported". Is there any way to just use the FA-08 as a generic 88 key with the iPad app? Otherwise, if I connect the keyboard to a PC and run the PC version of the app, will it work? I am going to try the latter in a little bit, but thought I would ask first. I would hate to not be able to use Playground Sessions at all with this fine synth.

How are you connected to the keyboard? The path should be:

Keyboard - MIDI or USB cable - Lighting-to-USB camera adapter

Lighting to USB Adapter 1
http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MD821 ... ra-adapter

Lighting to USB 3 Adapter
http://www.apple.com/shop/product/MK0W2 ... ra-adapter

then the iPad.

Make sure you are connected to the MIDI or USB to HOST option on the back of your keyboard. Some newer keyboards have a USB to device port which we do not support yet.

When you open the app, go to Settings - Piano. Are you able to view or select your MIDI device?

Are there any sort of MIDI settings on your keyboard that you can change?
