Playground Sessions & new iPad Pro 2018

Post by donaldm2k » Sun Dec 02, 2018 10:35 am

Hi,

I have no problems using PGS with iPad 9.7" version 4 (lightning connector) and my Roland piano.

But PGS running on my new iPad Pro 12.9" 2018 cannot see my Roland in the Settings menu.
The Roland is connected to the iPad Pro via its new USB-C port.

Is there an iOS update for PGS so it will be able to handle the USB-C connection on the new iPad Pro?

Donald

Are you just using a USB-C adapter, or are you also using a MIDI cable?

I am having a problem with my iPad Pro 11 inch as well. I’m using a UCB C connector. The lessons sound are only coming through my iPad now versus the keyboard speakers in my older iPad. I also have to plug in and in plug the USB cord to get it to sync up with my iPad at all. Is there an update coming that will improve the experience on the new iPads?

Are you using an official Apple USB C adapter?

Yes. I’m using the official adapter from Apple. It doesn’t matter how many times I turn things off and back on it plug and unplug. The sound is either totally distorted or Playground Sessions doesn’t recognize what I’m playing. It takes a lot of my practice time just getting things to work properly. I’ve also deleted the software and redownloaded it. Super frustrating!

Was there any resolution to this issue? I Have the same problem. I am connecting a Roland DS88 to an IPad Pro through the USB-C. I have tried both a midi to USB and a USB to USB with no luck. “No device detected” Any help would be greatly appreciated, thank you, Patrick.

@PMerriman were you able to get the USB-C connector to work with the iPad Pro 2018? Thanks.

Might still be good to check that the sample rate is 44100 Hz.
