there's something about music that we all love

I have two grandkids in a home with a piano that nobody knows how to play. The other day, the kids were romping around and I went over to the piano and began to play a simple sequence of chords I had learned with PS. The kids suddenly looked up and stared at me in silence - how is this neat sound coming from the piano?! What's true for them seems to be true for everyone including me. Music even at the simplest is captivating and all the more enjoyable if you can make it happen.
I was at a party years ago where someone sat down and started running through tunes on the piano effortlessly. It was again in a home where the piano simply sat there as decoration. We were all awed and smiling ear to ear. It's easy to see how long ago, before modern technology, gathering around the piano was a very big thing to do when people got together. Everyone loves music. The lesson for kids is a good one - you can only achieve if you put in the time to make it happen. Nobody sits down at a keyboard and plays the first time. Practice really is what makes perfect.
