Hi. My name is Jim and I reside in Wisconsin, USA. I decided to try to learn piano now that I'm fully retired and am limited by the pandemic. I started PGS about a week ago and just reached level 8, whatever that means
So far I'm enjoying my practice and feel like I've made progress. I do find myself relying on notations and finger numbering rather than actually reading the music. Hopefully that's something I can overcome in the near future.

Hi Jim, welcome to the club.
Don't worry about level or session points, they are from the past and not really used any more.
Your measure of progress should be how many lessons you complete at 100%.
Do a search of the word "practice" in these forums for tons of advice on completing the program.
Also, PGS has a youtube channel with a lot of additional video tutorials and live lessons.

Good luck.
