Hanon exercise approach

Post by equilibria » Mon Mar 30, 2020 6:57 pm

Hi,

What strategy do you use for the Hanon exercises? Get to 100% before you continue with the next step or all at once and when above 80% go to the next step. Maybe even start with the next exercise when all steps have not finished 100%. Or something else.

Best Regards,
Eelco

I stay at a step until I can reach 100% and feel somewhat comfortable - as in I feel I contrallaby played all the right keys without getting into a kinda "panicky" mode. I also do the excercises outside of PGS to warm up.

I'm with byted. Both parts - practice until you are comfortable playing the piece, and play it (at least the things like scales and hanon) outside of the app.
