No video in full screen

When in full screen there no video to see. Jump back out of full screen and video works again. I'm finding the size of the window containing the music is too small and I am not being able to see the music far enough ahead. Is there any way to get rid of the top banner to have a larger viewable screen area?

. I am finding it a little difficult to see. Just so I am clear it is the cursor that moves along the notes letting you know when to play a note. Thanks
