Rookie bootcamp lesson 64 part 5 (Scarborough Fair)

Post by mjnornan » Thu Jan 09, 2020 3:20 pm

This is in regards to the hand positions change from position 3 back to 2 in measures 14 and 15. If I look at the finger numbers, it looks as if it is expecting me to shift my whole hand from thumb being on G, down to being on C, and pinky from being on D down to being on A in one move. I have seen people practice scales and such, and I see them cross their fingers over "walking" down the keyboard when they need to change position.

Is this presented in the whole hand shift just to keep from introducing finger crossing (or whatever you call it) or am I missing something?

Maybe there are better ways to do it but what I did with that, was just to simply move my pinky from D to A. In effect moving the whole hand and just continuing down with ring finger on G and so on. Good luck.
