Hi all,
Currently, I'm a drummer (not professional), can read music; played accordion as a kid.
I have an electronic keyboard. Would like to dig into playing piano. I understand intervals and some theory about chords.
Is playground sessions a good fit for me or more intermediate and advanced?
Beginner advice?
Re: Beginner advice?
Hi ronnydee!
I'm a fellow drummer as well!
Yes, Playground Sessions will help make you into a competent piano player so you can conquer any song you wish to learn/play.
I started PS as a complete beginner. Had enough relevant-info from playing drums (basic music theory, can read sheet music) but it still didnt quite shorten the learning-curve all that much. Piano is a standalone-rhythm instrument (drums cant produce melody - am I right?).
The bootcamps (Rookie thru Advanced) help set you up with coordination, styles, theory, reading/translating, etc. The "courses" section also help with additional focus on the lessons you learned in the bootcamps.
If you want to put in the work to add piano to your repetoire, I HIGHLY reccomend Playground Sessions. Hope this helps and I wish you all the best!
By the way, if you goto the "General Chat >> Practice Tips" section of the forum, there's some info in there I wrote along with other people that may be of some use.

I'm a new one here but the reason I registered here is people! I think when you are musician and trying to level up your playing skills you always need better playing musician to speak with. It is like in chess, if you want to grow up as player you need to play with better player than you. And as an addition- practice, practice, practice! I'm always using scores for practice, there are a couple good webs for that (https://www.musicnotes.com/guitartab/ and https://musescore.com/sheetmusic?text=guitar). So take the best from everywhere!ronnydee wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 9:10 amHi all,

Agree about musescore (I am a member of its community https://musescore.com/community) and disagree about musicnotes (they are a bit "agressive" in the questions of money and support). But it is just my opinion!Oleg Vostyakov wrote: ↑Wed Sep 15, 2021 5:45 amI'm a new one here but the reason I registered here is people!
