PGS frequently hangs on OS X 10.10 GM 3
PGS frequently hangs on OS X 10.10 GM 3
For your information, PGS frequently hangs and must be force-quit om OS X 10.10 GM3. In particular this happens when the application and machine has been unused for a while, possibly after waking from sleep.

After you force quit the app, and re-open, does it work smoothly?

Yes, it works fine after force-quit.seant23 wrote:After you force quit the app, and re-open, does it work smoothly?
My GM is now the considered final release, so the issue is probably in the final Yosemite build.
iMac 2007, 6GB RAM, Roland A-49

The issue was now recreated simply by opening the application so that the logon dialog shows. Wait 15 minutes, login submit then hangs with beach-ball and the application must be force quit. After force-quit a restart with immediate login works fine.

I'll try and reproduce this issue on my Mountain Lion box on Monday. I don't have any Yosemite systems to test with just yet, but hopefully I can reproduce it on older versions of OSX and find a quick fix.
I'll keep you posted!

I don´t think you will, I did not have the issue before the upgrade, and It seems quite easily reproducible.seant23 wrote:I'll try and reproduce this issue on my Mountain Lion box on Monday. I have submitted my crash logs to Apple, maybe you can get some info from them?
You are allowed to virtualize OS X on Apple hardware, to you could probably also set up a virtual machine, or just use the oppurtunity to grab one of those new iMacs

Hi folks,
i have the same problem with Mac OS 10.9. I am facing the freeze situation even when i am playing, so without any idle. Its really annoying to be honest
I hope there will be a solution soon. The interesting thing here is that my Arturia Analog Lab is facing the same problem. It also freezes after some time. So a general Mac issue when using music software ?
cheers
Thomas

Hi Thomas,
That definitely would be annoying! Does it do it right away, or over time, and if over time, how long before it freezes?I am facing the freeze situation even when i am playing, so without any idle. Its really annoying to be honest

Re: PGS frequently hangs on OS X 10.10 GM 3
Its no "rule" in there...sometimes it needs 15 minutes to freeze after restart of the application. Yesterday for example i restarted that application and i tried to play a performance and it freezes at once. Just after restart of the application. So there is no rule in it...which makes it more complicated to fix the bug. This behavior started after the last Update cycle on Mac OS 10.9. I checked the process tree after the freeze and all modules of the app are on 100 % down to the Mac OS core audio component. I think we have to understand the changes the last bug fix release makes here in MacOS.

I have now experienced a freeze when playing as well. I always submit the crash report to apple, and have allowed apple to share the report with the developers. Maybe there is something to learn from those? I can probably upload the logs if you need them.
EDIT: Sean, I sent you my crash logs on mail.
